Our verdict on Mometu
Mometu is a free, ad-supported streaming service for movies and television, aimed at viewers who want on-demand titles alongside live programming without a subscription. Its catalog includes independent and international content, with hand-curated discovery across genres. That makes it a fit for viewers open to exploring beyond a narrowly defined mainstream catalog, while its free model suits people who prefer not to pay for a streaming plan.
The service combines on-demand movies and shows with live streaming channels, so viewers can choose between selecting a title and browsing scheduled programming. Mometu also describes its service as always free and says no subscription or credit card is required. Advertising supports the service, which is an important trade-off for viewers deciding whether free access is worth ad interruptions. There is no optional paid upgrade listed, so the choice is between this free, ad-supported model and a different service if an ad-free paid tier is a priority.
Mometu is available on the web and through iOS and Android apps, as well as Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and connected TVs. The range gives viewers options across mobile devices and living-room screens. Its core appeal is the combination of curated discovery, live channels and free on-demand viewing; people seeking a particular paid catalog or an ad-free experience should consider alternatives. For viewers comfortable with advertising and interested in independent or international selections, Mometu offers a straightforward way to watch movies and television across supported devices.
