Our verdict on Modular Mail

Modular Mail is an email content management system for marketing teams and agencies that need consistent branded campaigns without routine HTML editing. Developers or agencies configure HTML templates with locked layouts, reusable modules, editable content fields and approved variants. Marketers can then assemble campaigns with drag-and-drop module ordering, edit text and images, preview desktop and mobile layouts, and export clean HTML to an existing email service provider. It is best suited to governed teams working from a shared template system rather than individuals seeking a general-purpose email editor.

Pricing is structured across three plans. Studio costs £59 per month and includes unlimited modules, templates and campaigns, 300 AI actions per month, 30-day version history and standard email support. Business costs £349 per month and adds 2,000 AI actions per month, complete version history with named versions, guided onboarding and migration support, and priority support. Enterprise includes unlimited seats, increased AI allowances, dedicated onboarding and account support, plus custom contracts, invoicing and security review. A 14-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan.

The product’s main distinction is controlled campaign assembly: approved colours, fonts, layouts and alignment can be combined with editable text, image, link and CTA fields. AI Copy Assistant and AI-generated alt text extend the workflow, while workspace version history and rollback support change management. Integrations include Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Klaviyo, Marketo, Braze, SendGrid, Campaign Monitor, Iterable and other email platforms. Choose Modular Mail if reusable governance and clean export matter more than entry-level cost. Teams wanting a free plan, a standalone desktop application or less template control should consider an alternative.
