MODO is an Argentina-focused mobile wallet from Play Digital S.A. It connects participating bank accounts and payment cards so individuals can scan interoperable QR codes, pay online or in stores, use NFC on supported devices, transfer money and review receipts. The app also handles transport QR payments, SUBE and mobile recharges, selected service bills and government VEPs. It suits Argentine users who want one mobile app for daily merchant payments, transfers and local top-ups, and it is also available inside participating banks’ apps.
The published pricing model is free, with no paid tier described. MODO runs on iOS and Android and supports both standalone use and bank-app access. Its ecosystem fit depends on participating financial institutions for linked accounts and cards, while payment acceptance is based on interoperable QR and supported NFC devices. Support is offered through chat, tickets and documentation. Users can view balances, activity and payment receipts, giving the app a clear record of transactions without adding a subscription cost.
Its strongest differentiator is breadth within Argentina: merchant payments, person-to-person and bank transfers, transport QR, SUBE, mobile lines, selected services and VEPs sit in one wallet. Brazil coverage is narrower: eligible accounts can pay Brazilian merchants with Pix, but this is not described as person-to-person international transfer capability. Users whose needs center on Argentine QR, contactless payments, bill handling and transport recharges should find the feature mix aligned with those tasks. Those needing broader international transfers, universal institution coverage or NFC on unsupported hardware should consider a different payment app.
MODO pros and cons

- Transport QR, SUBE, mobile recharges, bills and VEP payments
- Where it doesn't
- NFC payments require a supported device
- Account and card linking depends on participating institutions
- Brazil Pix is merchant-only and requires an eligible dollar account
