A low-cost billing suite with self-hosting, payments, approvals, and reporting.

Miru brings time tracking, invoicing, expense management, payment collection, and reporting into one system for freelancers, agencies, consultants, startups, and other service businesses that bill by the hour. Teams can capture time with timers, manual entries, CLI tools, and desktop tools; assign work to clients and projects; apply hourly rates; approve entries; and generate invoices from billable time. A client invoice portal, receipt attachments, payment reminders, and billable or non-billable tracking extend its focus beyond basic timers.
Pricing is unusually broad across three deployment options. Miru Cloud costs $1 per member per month, billed monthly, and includes time tracking, invoicing, expenses, Stripe payments, advanced reports and analytics, API and CLI access, and priority email support. Self-hosted is free, includes unlimited members and every feature with no gates, and supports Docker deployment under the MIT license, with community support on Discord. Managed Miru costs $1,000 per month and adds a dedicated deployment, upgrades, backups, monitoring, integration help, security review support, and SLA options. This makes the free self-hosted edition the clearest fit for teams comfortable managing their own deployment, while the managed tier targets organizations wanting operational assistance.
Miru also fits teams that need connections beyond its core billing workflow. Integrations include Stripe, Razorpay, QuickBooks Online, SMTP email, Google SSO, CSV, PDF, REST API, Zapier, Make, and n8n. Its web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, API, and self-hosted availability supports varied working environments, while reports cover time, revenue, aging, and payments. The main functional boundary is recurring billing: recurring invoices are not available. Teams requiring that workflow should choose another product; teams prioritizing open-source control, flexible time capture, approvals, and low-cost deployment should consider Miru.
