MiniMax Audio review
A low-cost web generator with detailed inputs, but no commercial use or advanced editing.

MiniMax Audio is a web-based AI music service for individual creators developing original songs, vocals and soundtracks. Its Music feature can create songs from supplied lyrics and style instructions, or generate lyrics from a described style. Users can enter song names and specify arrangement, structure, vocals, mood, genre, instrumentation and tempo. The product suits prompt-led experimentation more than detailed production work.
Pricing is straightforward at the entry level. The Starter plan costs $5 per month and includes accelerated content generation. Standard costs $30 per month and also lists accelerated content generation. A Top-up Service costs $30 per one million credits. The service also describes limited daily credits for free access, while the published plan information does not present a perpetual $0 subscription. This makes MiniMax Audio approachable for users who want to keep monthly spending low, although the plan highlights do not distinguish additional creative features between the paid tiers.
The strongest fit is its input depth for a browser-based generator. Lyrics can reach 3,000 characters, style descriptions can reach 2,000 characters, and arrangement or structure tags can guide the song form. Vocal and mood instructions add further control, while batch generation can produce two songs. The trade-off is important for professional use: the general service terms restrict use to personal, non-commercial purposes, and the product offers limited editing features. Choose MiniMax Audio for affordable prompt-based song and soundtrack ideas; choose an alternative if commercial rights or deeper editing are central requirements.
