MinedMap is an open-source Minecraft map renderer and browser viewer for people who want to host their own interactive maps. It generates map tiles from Minecraft Java Edition save games and presents them in a Leaflet-based web viewer. The product fits server operators, technical players, and communities that need offline map viewing, live updates, sign markers, and a 2D view without relying on a hosted mapping service.

Its strongest capability is incremental map maintenance. MinedMap can regenerate changed regions instead of rebuilding every tile, while watch mode continuously regenerates maps when world data changes. Configurable worker threads support parallel generation, and the renderer can output PNG or WebP tiles. The viewer also includes an illumination layer for nighttime worlds. Sign markers can be configured with prefixes and regular-expression filters, giving map administrators control over which in-world signs appear as markers.

MinedMap’s deployment model is a clear fit for users comfortable managing files and a web server. The project is distributed through platform-specific binaries alongside a platform-independent viewer archive, with Linux and Windows builds documented. Its scope is narrower than a broader, multi-edition or multi-platform mapping product: the documented compatibility centers on unmodified Minecraft Java Edition, and the viewer is 2D. Choose MinedMap when self-hosting, incremental regeneration, and watch mode matter most. Choose an alternative if you need a different Minecraft edition, a non-2D presentation, or a platform outside its documented build coverage.
