Inbound email, links and attachments get layered checks against targeted threats.

Mimecast Targeted Threat Protection is an email security offering for organizations defending against phishing, impersonation and other targeted attacks. It combines Impersonation Protect, URL Protect and Attachment Protect to inspect inbound messages, links and attachments. Suspicious messages can be blocked, quarantined or shown with a warning. The service is cloud-based, with protections described as applying on and off the corporate network, including on mobile devices. Its stated fit spans small, mid-market and enterprise organizations.
Its strongest distinction is coverage across several stages of an email attack. The service scans messages for social-engineering indicators, rewrites links and checks destination sites in real time when clicked, and scans archived email links to address delayed attacks. Potentially malicious attachments can be sandboxed before delivery or converted to a safe format. Real-time threat analysis and reporting round out those controls. This makes the product a fit for teams that want email-focused defenses to cover both immediate and delayed link risks, as well as suspicious files.
According to Mimecast's plans page, the current email-security tiers—Critical, Advanced and Premium—use contact or custom pricing. Each lists AI-powered BEC protection, on-click URL analysis, advanced attachment sandboxing and detection, and Browser Isolation; those plan highlights do not establish that Browser Isolation is a Targeted Threat Protection capability. Organizations will need to discuss pricing with Mimecast, and the shared highlights offer little basis for choosing among tiers from the published plan summary alone. The product suits organizations prioritizing inbound email and link protection; buyers seeking a wider security scope or straightforward public price comparisons may prefer to compare alternatives. Support is listed through documentation.
