Merge provides a unified Accounting API for software companies building customer-facing connections to accounting platforms. It normalizes common financial models and supports reading and writing data such as invoices, bills, accounts, payments, expenses, and journal entries. Developers and product teams can connect services including QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, FreshBooks, FreeAgent, Clear Books, and Zoho Books through web or API access.

Pricing is structured around production Linked Accounts and progressively broader operational support. The free Launch option links three production Linked Accounts and includes basic functionality. The paid Launch plan costs $650 per month, includes 10 production Linked Accounts, and adds read and write access, Embedded Merge Link, and daily sync frequency. Professional adds custom fields, custom sync frequencies, 60-day access to developer sandboxes for third-party platforms, and email and chat support. Enterprise adds Audit Trail and other enterprise security features, unlimited sandbox access, a dedicated account manager with a shared Slack channel, plus support and uptime SLAs. Professional and Enterprise pricing is contract-based.

The product’s main strength is breadth within accounting integrations without requiring each connection to use a separate model. Merge Link supports end-user authorization and account-token access, while webhooks and polling support synchronization and changed-data events. SDKs are available for Node, Java, Python, Go, and Ruby, and test Linked Accounts and sandbox environments support development workflows. Merge is a strong fit for teams that need multi-platform accounting connectivity, two-way data access, and a defined developer toolkit. Teams needing only one accounting integration, or seeking lower-cost paid access, may prefer a narrower integration approach.
