mcmap is an open-source command-line and experimental GUI tool for rendering Minecraft save files as pixel-art maps from an isometric perspective. It is aimed at players, server administrators, and technical users who want local map output on Windows, macOS, or Linux. The renderer works offline and can produce standalone PNG images or tiled map data that opens in the project’s bundled HTML viewer.

Its strongest area is output control. Users can set coordinate, center, radius, and height bounds to focus rendering on a particular area. mcmap also supports the Nether, End, and custom dimensions, giving it useful coverage for worlds with more than an Overworld map. Block colors can be configured through JSON, while lighting and height-based shading add visual distinction to the generated maps. Up to 256 map markers are supported for identifying locations.

mcmap fits users who prefer local files, scripting, and compact isometric representations over a hosted live server map. Its tiled HTML output provides browser-based viewing after generation, but the project is still centered on offline rendering rather than continuous server synchronization. The command-line orientation may suit technical workflows better than users seeking a polished point-and-click mapping application, and the experimental GUI does not change that core focus. Choose mcmap for configurable local renders across multiple dimensions; consider another category option if you need a live hosted map service or a different viewing mode.
