MaxOptra is a cloud-based route optimisation and delivery management platform for distribution and service fleet operators. It supports multi-stop and fixed-route planning, using factors such as vehicle capacity, order volume, delivery time slots, driver availability and traffic conditions. Its driver apps for iOS and Android add real-time notifications, tracking, reporting and electronic proof of delivery. The product is aimed at established operators managing recurring distribution, service or delivery work across multiple vehicles and routes.

Operational breadth is a central strength. MaxOptra supports regular route re-optimisation, automated email and SMS ETA notifications, vehicle checks with stored photos and defect records, and standard KPI reporting. Electronic proof of delivery can include signatures, photos and comments, giving delivery teams a structured record of completed stops. These capabilities make it suitable for organisations that need more than route sequencing alone, particularly when dispatch, driver activity, customer communication and vehicle oversight belong in the same workflow.

Platform fit is also broad. MaxOptra runs across web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, with an open REST API and CSV data exchange. Integrations include Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Kerridge, Epicure, Shopify, Magento, TomTom, Geotab, Quartix, SuperOffice and Geopal. The offering is paid, with a small fleet package for fleets of fewer than five vehicles, while most plan details require direct contact. Organisations seeking a focused route planner or a free product may prefer a simpler alternative; established fleets needing recurring routes, live tracking, re-optimisation and connected delivery operations are the stronger fit.

MaxOptra pros and cons

  • Where it doesn't
    • No free plan is available
    • Pricing is paid and most plan details require contacting MaxOptra
    • Its broad feature set may exceed the needs of smaller fleets
