Our verdict on Mailtrap Email Sending
Mailtrap Email Sending is an email delivery service for developers and product teams sending transactional or bulk messages. It combines a REST API with an SMTP relay, reusable HTML and text templates, delivery analytics, suppression management, and inbound email through dedicated addresses, webhooks, and API access. Official SDKs cover Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby, Java, and .NET, while integrations include Supabase, Vercel, Claude Code, Cursor, Apache Airflow, Make, and Zapier. The service fits teams that want multiple integration paths rather than a narrow sending endpoint.
Pricing scales from the Free plan, which includes 4,000 emails per month, 150 emails per day, 1 sending domain, and 3 days of email logs, to Basic at $15 per month with 10,000 emails, 3 users, 5 days of logs, and 5 sending domains. Business costs $85 per month and adds 100,000 emails, 100 users, 15 days of logs, 100 sending domains, and a dedicated IP. Enterprise costs $750 per month and includes 1,500,000 emails, 30 days of logs, priority support, custom contracts, and enterprise billing. The monthly email limit is shared between sending and receiving.
Its strongest fit is software teams that need delivery events and operational controls, including delivery, open, click, bounce, spam, and unsubscribe webhooks, plus SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication. Dedicated sending IPs with automated warm-up support higher-volume programs, while the Basic plan does not include a dedicated IP. Teams should choose Mailtrap when SDK coverage, API and SMTP flexibility, inbound email, and integration breadth matter. Smaller senders can start free, but teams needing longer log retention, dedicated IP capability, or high-volume capacity should evaluate the paid tiers rather than relying on the entry plan.
