Our verdict on mail.ch
mail.ch is a personal email service for individuals and small organizations seeking encrypted email, aliases, calendar tools, and access across web, desktop, and mobile. The FreeMail plan provides 1 GB of storage, one mail.ch address, one alias, end-to-end encryption, and the mail.ch app. It is a practical starting point for users who want a dedicated mailbox without a subscription, while paid tiers suit people who need more storage, aliases, filtering, and an ad-free inbox.
Pricing follows a clear four-tier structure. FreeMail costs CHF 0 per month and includes the core mailbox features. PlusMail costs CHF 3.49 per month when billed annually, with 5 GB of storage, 10 aliases, an ad-free mailbox, professional spam and virus protection, and all app features. ProMail costs CHF 4.99 per month billed annually and increases storage to 20 GB and aliases to 20. PowerMail costs CHF 7.99 per month billed annually, adds unlimited storage, 30 aliases, prioritised support, and professional spam and virus protection. Paid plans have 12-month contract terms, with the total payable at the beginning of the term, and paid plans include a 30-day free trial.
The service fits users who want broad protocol and client compatibility rather than a mailbox limited to one application. Webmail, iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS access are supported, while IMAP, POP3, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV, and WebDAV connect mail, calendars, contacts, and files with Apple Mail, Outlook, and Thunderbird. Additional features include 100 MB attachments, online file storage, link sharing, address-book import and export, two-factor authentication, and U2F. Choose mail.ch for encrypted personal email with flexible access and paid ad-free options; choose an alternative if a monthly-only plan or a larger free storage allowance matters more.
