LokalBoards is an open-source Kanban board system for teams that want to run project boards on their own server. It provides column and list views, cards, checklists, comments, file attachments and real-time updates for boards, cards and comments. Role-based sharing supports owners, members and read-only guests, while the multilingual interface supports ten languages. Trello import makes it relevant for teams moving existing boards, and the product is aimed at organizations that prefer control over hosting and data instead of a hosted project-management service.

The pricing structure is straightforward. The Self-hosted plan costs €0 one time and includes the open-source MIT license, no paid tier and no seat limit. An optional Setup service costs €299 one time for installation on the customer's server, while the software remains free. Deployment options include Docker, source installation and NixOS, with MySQL used for data storage. This gives technically capable teams a no-license-cost route, while the setup service offers a paid installation path without turning the software itself into a subscription product.

LokalBoards is strongest when self-hosting, multilingual access and board portability matter. The REST API and built-in MCP server extend access beyond the web interface, including access for AI agents, while role-based sharing supports different levels of participation. Its ecosystem is focused rather than broad: Trello is the named integration, and the product's core scope remains Kanban boards. Teams seeking a self-managed, Trello-compatible board system should consider it; teams needing a wider integration ecosystem or broader project-management coverage may prefer a different category fit.
