LivyPayroll review
A low-base-price payroll tool for basic pay runs, with tax deposits left to employers.

LivyPayroll is self-serve payroll software for U.S. small businesses and payroll professionals. Employers enter hours or salaries, run payroll, pay employees, and submit payroll tax deposits themselves. Its supported pay types are hourly, salary, and piecework, and its schedules include weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly. That makes it a fit for solo operators who want to handle routine payroll calculations and records, or bookkeepers managing several client companies, rather than employers seeking a service to remit taxes for them.
The Standard plan costs $14.99 per month plus $2.00 per active employee per month. It includes unlimited pay runs, automatic federal, state, Social Security, and Medicare withholding calculations, pay stub generation and email delivery, tax-liability summaries, W-2 year-end reporting, and unlimited companies in one account. A 14-day trial is available without a card requirement. Bookkeeper Pro starts at $199.99 per month and requires a quote; it adds client billing summaries and markup tools, fee controls, PDF summaries, an advanced company dashboard, a cross-client pay run overview, and priority support. The higher plan is directed at bookkeeping workflows, not simply a larger set of payroll calculations.
A key boundary is the division between calculation and tax handling: LivyPayroll calculates withholding and summarizes tax liabilities, but employers submit the deposits themselves. Year-end W-2 reporting is included, but that should not be confused with payroll tax filing or remittance. Employee self-service is also unavailable, so employees do not have a current portal through which to manage payroll information. The web-based cloud product offers email, chat, and documentation support. Choose it if you want recurring payroll runs, pay stubs, and W-2 reporting while retaining responsibility for deposits; consider another service if tax filing, remittance, or employee self-service is essential.
