Live Helper Chat review
A flexible, low-cost chat system for teams that value customization and data control.

Live Helper Chat is an open-source customer-support chat system for websites. It combines human operator chat with configurable chatbot workflows, visitor tracking, chat transfers, file uploads, screenshots, co-browsing, and chat history. Teams can use the vendor’s hosted service or run the software on infrastructure they control. Its feature set suits organizations that want website support chat with customization, messaging connections, and data ownership rather than a narrowly focused chat widget.
The pricing structure keeps the product accessible for smaller teams. The hosted Free trial provides 14 days with unlimited operators and unlimited chats. Basic costs €6 per month and allows up to 8,000 pageviews daily; Standard costs €10 per month and raises that limit to 50,000 pageviews daily; Premium costs €16 per month and allows up to 100,000 pageviews daily. All three paid plans include unlimited operators and unlimited chats. The Self hosted edition is completely free, includes source code, and places hosting responsibility with the customer. Teams should compare the convenience of hosted service with the operational responsibility of running their own instance.
Live Helper Chat covers more than text-based website support. It includes voice, video, and screen sharing, chat translation, speech-to-text support, AI integrations, REST API connections, and integrations with Telegram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Twilio, Jitsi, Agora, Rasa, Docker, and other tools. Platforms include web, self-hosted deployments, an API, and a Chrome extension. That breadth supports customized support workflows, but the platform and integration coverage is narrower than larger alternatives. Choose it if open-source access, self-hosting, or low monthly pricing matters most; consider another product if you need a wider ecosystem or prefer to avoid managing customer-provided hosting.
