Our verdict on Lispr
Lispr is desktop dictation software for people who want spoken words inserted directly at the active cursor in other applications. It supports approximately 99 languages, detects spoken-language changes mid-sentence, and can translate speech into 32 languages using a second key during dictation. Personal vocabulary helps with names, brands, and other terms, while local history keeps prior dictation available. Its solo and small-business fit is strongest for multilingual writing on Windows or macOS.
The Free plan costs $0 and includes push-to-talk dictation, translation, a personal dictionary, and local history, subject to a weekly dictation-minute allowance. Pro is listed at $79 per year or $7.99 per month. Both Pro options remove the minute cap, add AI formatting for paragraphs, lists, and concise text, and allow use on all devices under one account. A 30-day free trial is available, and the pricing page advertises a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Lispr works as a desktop overlay rather than a destination editor: a keyboard shortcut starts dictation, and text appears wherever the cursor is active. Latched hands-free recording is available, and translation can be triggered during speech. Recognition runs in the cloud, so an internet connection is required and offline dictation is not an option. The current product does not provide voice commands for editing or computer control. Choose Lispr if multilingual cursor-based dictation and translation matter more than offline access or broader platform coverage; consider another tool if those capabilities are essential.
