LibNXbox review
A focused, free homebrew client for streaming Xbox games to Nintendo Switch.

LibNXbox is unofficial open-source homebrew software for Nintendo Switch users who want to stream games from an Xbox console or Xbox Cloud Gaming. It connects through Microsoft authentication and Xbox streaming services, then presents the session through a Nintendo Switch homebrew interface. The project is distributed as an NRO file and supports Nintendo Switch-to-Xbox controller button mapping, rumble and haptic feedback. It is aimed at Switch owners who already have access to Xbox console streaming or eligible Xbox Cloud Gaming titles and want a focused client for that pairing.
Its strongest technical focus is the streaming path. LibNXbox uses WebRTC for the game-stream connection, H.264 video decoding through the Nintendo Switch Tegra X1 NVDEC, and Opus stereo audio playback. Those components are paired with controller mapping and feedback support rather than a broad multi-platform feature set. Microsoft account authentication runs through official Microsoft servers, while the listed integrations are Xbox console, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Microsoft account. This makes the product a narrow fit for the Xbox-to-Switch use case, not a general remote-play client.
The main practical considerations are platform and access requirements. The software requires title mode instead of applet mode, and its Xbox Cloud Gaming or console-streaming access remains subject to Xbox availability, subscription, ownership and bitrate restrictions. It is also explicitly not affiliated with Nintendo or Microsoft. Choose LibNXbox if Nintendo Switch is the intended client and Xbox services are the target host. Choose an alternative if you need broader platform coverage, a non-homebrew setup, or streaming outside Xbox console and Xbox Cloud Gaming services.
