Our verdict on Learnosity

Learnosity provides embeddable assessment APIs for edtech companies, educational publishers, learning platforms, and enterprise software teams. It covers question authoring, reusable item banks, assessment delivery, scoring, analytics, math assessment, and AI-assisted written-response grading. Organizations can configure navigation, timing, and review, while learners can encounter more than 50 prebuilt question types and interactives. This is designed for teams adding assessment inside an existing product, not for organizations seeking a standalone zero-code application.

Pricing is sales-led, with no free plan and no published starting price. The Standard plan includes assessment APIs and core capabilities for up to 100,000 users. Scale retains those capabilities for between 100,000 and 500,000 users, while Enterprise is intended for more than 500,000 users. Learnosity describes annual SaaS pricing as calculated from usage, estimated end users, features, and support. The plan structure therefore aligns the commercial model with expected scale, but buyers need a sales conversation to establish licensing costs.

The platform’s depth is concentrated in embedded assessment: automatic and manual scoring workflows, open-ended math scoring with equivalent-answer recognition, AI-assisted essay scoring with rubric-based feedback, and analytics APIs. LTI 1.3 and LTI 1.1 support grade passback to LMS gradebooks, while OAuth and QTI add connectivity options. Its web and API access fit products that need configurable assessment infrastructure and developer control. Choose Learnosity when advanced scoring and integration depth matter inside a learning product; choose a standalone assessment tool instead when a no-code workflow and publicly listed pricing are the priority.
