LAN Viewer review
A focused Android network viewer for identifying and labeling local devices.

LAN Viewer is an Android app for seeing which devices respond on the local Wi-Fi network a phone is connected to. It is aimed at solo users and small households or setups that want a readable inventory of network devices, rather than a tool for assessing threats. The app scans the local subnet and can show available IP and MAC addresses, hostnames, vendor, model, and operating-system information. Discovery uses mDNS/Bonjour, NetBIOS, LLMNR, UPnP, and reverse DNS, so the information shown depends on what can be identified on the network.
Its useful distinction is device tracking, not security analysis. People can label entries as known or unknown, and those labels persist between scans. LAN Viewer also displays gateway, DNS, and Wi-Fi signal details, can ping hosts to report reachability, and keeps a local activity log of scans and network changes. Results stay on the phone according to the product description. This makes it suited to checking what is currently responding and noticing changes; it does not determine whether a device is safe or inspect a wireless network for security weaknesses.
The Free plan covers scanning the local network and identifying responding devices. The optional one-time Pro upgrade removes ads and unlocks extras, though its price is not stated here. LAN Viewer is therefore a fit for Android users who want a lightweight device list and persistent labels without a subscription-based plan. Choose a different kind of security scanner if you need vulnerability checks or safety assessments, and look elsewhere if you need a platform beyond Android. Email and documentation are listed as support channels.
