LaLa Trainers Launcher review
A free Windows and Linux trainer launcher with Steam Deck and Proton support.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
LaLa Trainers Launcher is a free, open-source desktop launcher for discovering, managing, and running game trainers. It is aimed at players on Windows and Linux, including Steam Deck users who want a single place to find trainers, manage downloads, and launch them with installed Steam games. Support for custom trainers also makes it suitable for users who already have trainer files outside the launcher's discovery flow.
Its main strength is platform and ecosystem coverage. The launcher can detect installed Steam games, work with Steam, and run trainers on Linux through Proton. Steam Deck gaming-mode support extends that fit beyond a standard desktop setup. Prebuilt Windows and Linux downloads are available, and the project documents AppImage, Flatpak, Debian, ZIP, and Windows executable installation options. That range gives Linux users several installation paths while keeping the core experience focused on trainer discovery and execution.
The trade-off is a narrow, utility-focused scope. The listed capabilities cover discovering, downloading, managing, and running trainers, but automatic trainer-update automation is not part of the product's stated feature set. macOS support is identified as coming soon, so the current platform fit is Windows, Linux, and Steam Deck through Proton. Choose LaLa Trainers Launcher if free, open-source access and Proton support matter more than broader operating-system coverage or automated update handling. Users seeking a macOS-ready launcher or a more automated trainer-maintenance workflow should look elsewhere.
