Krellix Mail is Windows software for collecting email and documents from Microsoft 365 and IMAP. It is aimed at solo attorneys, small firms, in-house counsel, compliance teams, and HR investigators handling litigation holds, regulatory responses, or internal investigations. The product focuses on defensible collection rather than end-to-end legal hold administration. It preserves native .eml files, creates searchable PDFs and load files, applies SHA-256 and MD5 hashes, adds RFC 3161 timestamps, and produces a chain-of-custody manifest with a self-running verification script.

Pricing is structured across three annual plans. Solo costs $299 per year and includes personal mode, by-correspondent or by-folder collection, Bates numbering, hashes, timestamps, and email support with a one-business-day response time. Firm costs $799 per year, includes everything in Solo, and adds up to five operator seats plus priority email support. Enterprise costs $2,499 per year and adds custodian collection, OneDrive and SharePoint document collection, tenant-wide admin consent, an onboarding call, and custom seat counts. The plan structure makes Solo suitable for individual practitioners and small collection tasks, while broader Microsoft 365 investigations require Enterprise.

Its strongest fit is evidence collection where preservation, verification, and export matter more than matter administration. Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph, IMAP, OneDrive, and SharePoint integrations support common email and document sources, while Items.csv load files help downstream review workflows. The trade-off is scope: Krellix Mail is not presented as a complete legal hold management system, with reusable hold templates, custodian acknowledgments, automated reminders, and matter tracking outside its stated focus. Teams needing those workflows should consider a broader legal hold platform; teams needing controlled collection on Windows can choose Krellix Mail, especially when Solo covers the requirement.

Krellix Mail pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Annual pricing starts at $299 for email and document collection
    • Preserves native .eml files with hashes, timestamps, and chain-of-custody
    • Enterprise adds custodian, OneDrive, and SharePoint collection
  • Where it doesn't
    • Windows-only platform limits accessibility across operating systems
    • Not a complete legal hold administration or custodian workflow system
    • Advanced collection features require the $2,499 Enterprise plan
