Kompanion is a managed cloud intranet and people-management platform for organizations that want employee communication, HR workflows and internal service requests in one system. Its core modules include a searchable employee directory, organizational chart, targeted announcements, team chat, leave management, task assignment, document management, forms and surveys, internal job postings and helpdesk capabilities. Employees can access it on the web or through native iOS and Android apps with push notifications, while administrators can manage areas such as roles, departments, approvals and internal requests.

Pricing is structured around monthly plans plus separate setup fees. Essential costs $249 per month and includes all core modules, a dedicated cloud server, web, iOS and Android apps, eight languages and email support. Its separate setup fee is $990 and covers cloud server setup, user import and roles, organizational structure, employee onboarding, data migration, branding and languages. Business costs $599 per month and adds custom branding and domain, custom workflows on request, priority support and quarterly reviews with the team. Enterprise costs $1,500 per month, with a $5,000 one-time setup fee, and adds custom modules and integrations, SSO, advanced security, a dedicated account manager, SLA and phone support.

The strongest fit is an organization that wants a wide internal hub rather than separate tools for communication, leave administration, documents, forms and helpdesk requests. Targeted news with read tracking, department-filtered organization charts, leave balances and absence calendars, and helpdesk SLAs support structured internal operations. Native mobile apps extend access beyond the desktop. Kompanion is less suitable for teams that need a low-cost starting point, a narrowly focused intranet, or integrations without moving to Enterprise. Its setup work and tiered pricing make it better suited to organizations prepared to invest in configuration and ongoing administration.

Kompanion pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Combines communication, HR workflows, documents, forms and helpdesk tools.
    • Native web, iOS and Android access includes push notifications.
    • Enterprise adds SSO, advanced security, custom modules and integrations.
  • Where it doesn't
    • Starts at $249 per month, with setup fees charged separately.
    • Custom modules and integrations are limited to the Enterprise plan.
    • The broad feature set may exceed the needs of teams seeking a focused intranet.
