Our verdict on Koler
Koler is an Android phone and dialer app for placing and receiving calls, accessing contacts and recent calls, and managing incoming calls. Its swipe-based controls and customizable interface make it a fit for people who want to shape a dialer around gestures, while its libre source repository may appeal to users who prefer open-source software. It is a focused mobile app for solo users and small-scale needs, rather than a broader communications suite.
The main distinction is the range of call actions available through gestures. Users can swipe to place calls, delete numbers, or collapse the dialer, and incoming calls can be answered or rejected by swipe. Rejection can also send an SMS, and timed answering or rejection is supported. Alongside contact and call-log access, those controls cover practical calling tasks without turning Koler into a feature-heavy communications tool. Dual-SIM support and interface customization add flexibility for Android users who want control over how the dialer behaves.
Koler is freemium, with a free F-Droid distribution; its listed F-Droid version requires Android 7.1 or newer. The app is focused on core dialing and call handling: it has no verified caller ID, spam protection, or integrations. That makes it less suitable for people choosing a dialer primarily for screening unknown callers or connecting calling to other services. Support is community-based, which fits users comfortable with community channels better than those who expect formal support. Choose Koler for gesture controls, customization, and an open-source approach; look elsewhere if caller screening or integrations are central to your decision.
