Klarna provides payment and buy-now-pay-later services for ecommerce, mobile applications, and physical stores. It is designed for merchants that want to offer pay-now, pay-later, pay-in-parts, and financing options across multiple checkout channels. Customers may see Pay later up to 30 days, Pay in 3 or 4 installments, or financing over 6–24 months where available. Klarna supports merchants in regions including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, among others.
Pricing is sales-led and contract-based, with terms varying by market, payment program, channel, and agreement. Merchants can connect through direct APIs, payment providers, and integrations for Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce, WooCommerce, Mollie, and Global-e. The platform also supports online checkout, mobile apps, in-store QR-code payments, payment links, localized payment messaging, express checkout, and Sign in with Klarna. This makes it a fit for businesses operating across several commerce environments rather than only one storefront platform.
Merchant operations extend beyond checkout. Merchant Portal covers orders, payouts, bank details, and disputes, while settlement reports are available through the portal, API, or SFTP. Scheduled settlement is supported, with timing defined by the merchant agreement. Payment availability, pricing, and consumer eligibility vary by country, so merchants with a tightly standardized regional model may prefer a provider with simpler market coverage or more predictable public pricing. Klarna suits global omnichannel merchants that need multiple payment journeys and operational reporting in one arrangement.
