KLARA review
Swiss accounting and VAT tools, but no listed payroll tax capabilities.

KLARA is a cloud-based accounting and business platform for small and medium-sized businesses in Switzerland. It brings invoicing, bank connections, receipt scanning, financial reporting and journal review together, with broader modules for customer and supplier management, order processing, payroll, point-of-sale and online business tools. For a business seeking accounting and VAT workflows, its scope is relevant; for a buyer specifically evaluating payroll tax software, the accounting emphasis is a significant mismatch.
The accounting workflow combines AI-assisted recognition and posting of receipt and invoice data with synchronized bank transactions and matching. Users can create invoices, quotes, delivery notes and reminders, and review or edit workflow-generated journal postings. KLARA also automates income statements, balance sheets and account details, and provides VAT reporting with an online filing workflow. Receipt scanning and document upload are available through the smartphone app, alongside web access. These functions make the accounting and VAT use case more central than payroll tax administration.
According to the published plans, Business Basic starts at CHF 48 per month on a 2-year term; annual pricing is also shown at CHF 55 per month, while monthly billing is CHF 69. Business Plus is CHF 69 per month on a 2-year term, CHF 79 annually, or CHF 99 monthly; it adds unlimited admin users, phone and 1:1 online meeting support, and budgeting. Business Premium is listed at CHF 111 per month for a 2-year term and CHF 127 annually, adding on-site support, a personal account manager and accounting migration. A 30-day trial is advertised, and prices exclude VAT. Choose KLARA for Swiss small-business accounting and VAT workflows; businesses whose primary requirement is payroll tax software should look elsewhere.
