Kinetra2D review
A low-cost web workspace for 2D game animation, with focused PixiJS delivery.

Kinetra2D is a browser-based 2D animation workspace for game and interactive-media assets. It combines parent-child skeletal rigging, mesh deformation with direct vertex control, keyframe timelines, easing, interpolation, audio cues, texture atlas packing, and AI-assisted animation generation. It is aimed at individual creators and teams that want to produce animation assets in a web environment and deliver them to PixiJS-based projects.
The plan structure makes the product accessible for smaller projects. The Free plan includes core rigging and mesh tools, skeleton, atlas and sound exports, and community support. Pro costs $12 per month and adds PixiJS runtime package exports, an audio timeline with sound cues, and PNG previews on save. Studio costs $32 per month and adds unlimited cloud projects, 100 GB of workspace storage, and unlimited monthly exports. Team costs $20 per seat per month and includes a shared team workspace, roles and seat management, and unlimited monthly exports. A 14-day free trial is also available.
Kinetra2D’s main trade-off is its focused platform and integration scope. The product runs on the web, and PixiJS is the currently supported export engine. Its downloadable workflow packages skeleton data, texture atlases, and sounds, which fits web game teams already working with that ecosystem but gives fewer options to teams targeting other engines or broader production pipelines. Choose Kinetra2D for affordable skeletal animation, lightweight cloud collaboration, and PixiJS delivery. Choose an alternative if cross-engine export, native desktop workflows, or wider integration coverage is central to your process.
