Keenious is an academic search and research-comprehension platform for students and researchers. It combines semantic search with keyword and Boolean-style operators, then groups results by research area. Users can ask AI questions about research, upload documents and PDFs, filter papers by open access, year, citations, authors, journals, and conferences, and save articles with bookmarks. Cross-language academic search broadens discovery across disciplines and languages.

The plan structure supports both individual and team use. The Free plan includes all search results, five AI responses per conversation, three conversations per day, and file uploads up to 3 MB. Plus Individual costs $10 per month with annual billing and adds RIS, BibTeX, and other citation exports, unlimited responses per conversation, unlimited daily conversations, and uploads up to 20 MB. Plus Teams costs $20 per user per month with annual billing and adds team administration, centralized billing, and two-factor authentication. The published plans show no trial period for Plus. An Institutions plan provides student and faculty access, SSO, SAML, IP-based access, library collection integration, and dedicated support.

Keenious fits researchers who want discovery and comprehension in one academic workflow rather than a general-purpose search engine. Its Microsoft Word and Google Docs add-ins can bring search into drafting, while EBSCO and PRIMO integrations support library-oriented environments. Citation export is particularly useful for moving findings into reference-management workflows. The trade-off is a focused scope: users looking for broad web search or a general AI research assistant may find the academic emphasis restrictive. Individuals with light research needs can start with Free, while frequent users, teams, and institutions have clearer reasons to move up the plan structure.
