Kagi Assistant is a web-based AI chatbot for research, programming, writing, and general question answering. It suits individuals who want access to multiple large language models alongside optional Kagi Search, file analysis, custom assistants, voice input, and exportable conversation threads. Its paid structure starts with a usage-limited Trial plan, while the first paid tier is designed for lighter monthly use.
Pricing is divided into four plans. Trial includes 100 searches and 100 Kagi Assistant interactions. Starter costs $5 per month and adds 300 searches, Quick mode, and 300 AI interactions per month. Professional costs $10 per month and includes unlimited searches, standard models, and a larger monthly usage allowance. Ultimate costs $25 per month and adds Research mode plus premium and flagship models. The published plans show a clear progression from basic assistant access to higher usage and more advanced model and research capabilities, with applicable tax added to the monthly USD prices.
The strongest distinction is Research mode, which supports multi-step research and tool use, including web search, document analysis, Python, image generation, and image editing. Custom assistants can use instructions and model selection, while conversations can be saved, searched, shared, and exported. Integrations include Kagi Search, BoltAI, Monarch Launcher, Alfred, Raycast, PopClip, Emacs, and an API. Choose Kagi Assistant if model choice, research tools, file uploads, and a paid Kagi ecosystem fit your workflow. Choose another chatbot if you need a free plan, broader native platform coverage, or advanced capabilities without the Ultimate tier.
