Jatayu 3D is a browser-based 3D CAD viewer from ATHIVEX for engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, students, and enterprise users. It supports interactive assembly exploration with rotation, zoom, pan, part isolation, exploded views, wireframe, and transparency modes. The free Student edition includes a WebGL viewer, STEP, STL, and IGES support, basic slicing, distance measurement, and desktop and mobile access. It is suited to teams that need to inspect and discuss engineering models without focusing on full CAD authoring.

The product’s strongest area is model review depth. Users can apply live slicing planes, including advanced multi-plane slicing, and measure distance, angle, wall thickness, and bounding boxes. Pinned 3D annotations, collaborative comments, shareable session links, and marked-up PDF export support design discussions across engineering and manufacturing workflows. Token-based DRM streaming without local file caching adds a controlled way to share models, while support for JT, ESF, GLB, OBJ, and ECAD 3D STEP export broadens format coverage.

Plan choice determines how far Jatayu 3D fits an organization. Student is free and covers core viewing and review needs. Professional adds production-grade assembly viewing, advanced slicing, annotations and commenting, DRM token streaming, and JT and ESF support; the published plan requires contacting sales. Ultra adds unlimited file size and parts scale, cross-discipline overlays, SSO, Active Directory, PLM integration, private-cloud or on-premise deployment, and a dedicated support SLA. Teams seeking controlled enterprise collaboration should consider Ultra, while students and smaller review workflows can start with Student. Organizations needing a simpler viewer or broader listed platform coverage may find the product less suitable.
