A capable guitar-to-MIDI tool for live performance, with broad DAW support and a high desktop price.

Jam Origin MIDI Guitar converts a guitar’s audio signal into MIDI for software synthesizers, samplers and effects. It supports polyphonic tracking for chords and single notes, making it suited to guitarists who want to control virtual instruments from their instrument. Windows and macOS users can work in a standalone application or inside a DAW through VST and Audio Unit plugins. An iOS version and a GarageBand-specific Mac version provide narrower platform options, while the standalone workflow supports live performance.
Its strongest area is the combination of guitar tracking, sound hosting and MIDI control. The Windows and Mac edition can host third-party synths, effects, samplebanks and impulse responses, including SFZ samplebanks, and includes guitar amp and cabinet simulation. MIDI Machines add transpose, sustain, arpeggiation and custom scripting, while MIDI Learn and MIDI controller integration extend control options. Published integrations include Ableton Live, GarageBand, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper, Studio One and other DAWs, giving it a broad fit for production and performance setups.
Pricing is split by platform and workflow. MIDI Guitar 2 for Windows and Mac is listed at $149.95 one-time, while MIDI Guitar 2 for GarageBand is $59.95 one-time. The iPhone and iPad edition includes polyphonic tracking, AudioUnit synth and effect support, MIDI output and MIDI Machines, with pricing beginning at $10 one-time. Free trials are also offered for evaluation. Choose MIDI Guitar for live guitar-to-MIDI performance, polyphonic playing and deep DAW integration. Buyers seeking a free plan or a general-purpose audio transcription tool should consider a different product.
