Our verdict on InftyEditor
InftyEditor is a Windows desktop authoring tool for mathematical documents, aimed at people who need to enter and edit equations in a print-style workspace. Its WYSIWYG display renders expressions as they are entered, while keyboard input uses LaTeX commands with online command help. The English edition is listed as free software, making it a practical fit for solo users and small organizations that want a no-cost equation editor without a web deployment.
The editor's main strength is format coverage. Documents can be saved as LaTeX, MathML, PDF, Microsoft Word 2007 files, and Human Readable TeX, so the same work can move into several document and publishing workflows. InftyReader provides the notable integration: when it is installed, users can scan printed documents and bring text and mathematical expressions into InftyEditor. That OCR-oriented path is useful for digitizing existing material, but it adds a separate application to the workflow. The published product details do not identify other integrations or AI features.
InftyEditor is most suitable when Windows compatibility, LaTeX-oriented entry, and export flexibility matter more than browser access. Its desktop-only, Windows-specific delivery narrows collaboration and device choices compared with tools designed for multiple platforms or online editing. Buyers should also distinguish the English edition's free listing from the Japanese edition, which the project page says is sold by Science Accessibility Net. Choose InftyEditor for focused equation authoring and document conversion; consider an alternative if your users require a web editor, non-Windows support, or a broader collaborative environment.
