Our verdict on IHI Open School
IHI Open School is a web-based continuing-education platform from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Its self-paced courses cover quality improvement, patient safety, population health, healthcare leadership, person- and family-centered care, equity, and graduate medical education. It is aimed at healthcare professionals and students seeking structured learning, as well as educators and residency programs that need course assignments and completion reporting. Learners can track course completion and credits in the Certificate Center, and eligible offerings can lead to certificates or micro-credential eligibility.
Pricing ranges from one-time course purchases to annual subscriptions. An individual course without CE credits costs $10; the version with a continuing-education credits option costs $20. Annual subscriptions are $120 per user for four Graduate Medical Education courses, $210 for seven Quality Improvement courses, and $249 for eight Patient Safety courses, each including credits.
