Our verdict on IELTS Prep
IELTS Prep is a web-based study platform for learners preparing for the IELTS exam across Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. Its free plan combines Reading practice, Listening practice, practice activities, a 15-minute diagnostic, and one free AI Writing feedback session. Learners can also access vocabulary, grammar, and exam-technique activities, while timed Reading and Listening mock tests provide estimated band scoring. The product is presented as an independent study tool built by a TESOL-certified IELTS teacher.
The pricing structure makes IELTS Prep accessible for early practice and more intensive feedback. The Free plan costs $0 forever and includes core Reading and Listening work, activities, and one AI Writing session. Premium Monthly costs $6 per month and adds Writing Task 2 AI marking and feedback, Speaking band-score analysis, and unlimited Writing and Speaking submissions. Premium — 6 Months costs $29 one-time and includes the same paid features. The paid tiers are most relevant to learners who need repeated feedback rather than only mock-test practice, while the free plan suits initial preparation and skill familiarization.
Its standout feature is the combination of AI scoring and detailed feedback for productive skills. Writing feedback includes band scoring and suggestions, while Speaking practice supports recorded responses, estimated band scores, per-criterion feedback, and a transcript. Progress history is stored in the user account, giving learners a way to review development over time. Listening mock tests use four sections and single-play audio, and Reading mocks are timed. Choose IELTS Prep if you want low-cost web-based practice with AI support for Writing and Speaking; choose another option if you need a broader exam platform or a non-web app.
