IBM Decision Intelligence Client Managed Software helps business and technical teams model, manage and execute operational decisions. Its low-code authoring environment supports collaboration with subject-matter experts, while machine learning and AI integrations extend decision logic for predictive use cases. IBM lists credit and loan approvals, personalized promotions, fraud detection and claims processing among the intended applications. The client-managed edition is aimed at organizations that need decisions delivered through web services, transaction servers, containers or serverless microservices.

The published plans are organized around two licensing models: perpetual license and monthly subscription. Each is available through either Universal Base Image or Cloud Pak for Business Automation. Universal Base Image plans include a transaction server, standalone containers on Kubernetes, serverless microservices and decisions as web services. Cloud Pak plans add standalone containers, serverless decision microservices on Red Hat OpenShift and pre-integrated automation technologies. Pricing uses a contact-sales model, so buyers should compare the perpetual and monthly options with IBM based on their deployment and automation requirements. There is no permanent free plan; a 30-day no-cost test drive is available.

Its strongest differentiator is ecosystem fit. Cloud Pak for Business Automation connects decision services with workflow, applications, content, capture and RPA, while deployment options cover Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift. This makes the product suitable for teams already standardizing on IBM automation technologies or requiring containerized decision execution. Buyers seeking low-code modeling, AI integration and API-accessible decisions should consider it. Organizations looking for a separately priced, permanently free product or a listed hosted platform should look elsewhere.
