HyperTRANSCRIBE is desktop software for manually transcribing audio and video, aimed at researchers and others working with qualitative material. It plays media in a transcription window as the user types, with keyboard controls for play, pause, advance, and rewind. Researchers who prefer to work through recordings themselves can use it on Windows or macOS; the license key works on either or both platforms.

Its main strength is a set of playback tools built around the manual workflow. Playback segments can loop automatically, and users can adjust segment length, pause duration, and replay behavior. Timecodes can be inserted into transcripts, and shortcuts can add frequently used text such as speaker names. Exports are available as plain text, RTF, or SBV captions. HyperTRANSCRIBE can also run from a removable drive on Windows or Mac, which may suit researchers moving between compatible desktop environments. Its listed integration is HyperRESEARCH, so it is a focused transcription aid rather than a broad connected workspace.

According to the vendor's pricing page, a commercial single license costs $199 one-time. Volume pricing lists $179 per license for 2–4 licenses, $159 for 5–9, $149 for 10–14, and $139 for 15–19; the plan names also include a 20-or-more tier without a listed price here. The demo restricts transcript output, so it is not a free plan. Choose HyperTRANSCRIBE if manual control, timecodes, and text exports fit your research process. If automatic speech-to-text or wider integrations are central, a different tool is a better fit.
