Our verdict on Homeschool Panda
Homeschool Panda brings lesson planning, scheduling, recordkeeping, and student tools together for homeschooling families. Its calendar can schedule lessons and assignments and accommodate changes, while plans can include course and chapter assignments, tests, activities, notes, files, and instructions. Attendance and grade reports, progress reports, portfolios, and digital book logs help families organize school records. Students can view tasks and update assignment status through a student portal. Web and mobile access make it a fit for families who want a shared planning system rather than a calendar alone.
The pricing structure offers a free plan and a 30-day free trial. Homeschooler Essentials costs $5 per month, billed monthly, and includes a calendar, lesson planner, digital book tracker with shelves, student portal, homeschooling reports, and family/tutor portal. Homeschooler Pro costs $8 per month, billed monthly; it includes Essentials features plus a transcript report, lesson plan marketplace, budget and expense tracking, and unlimited storage. A separate Panda Connect plan highlights Panda Post, Messenger, Groups, Forum, and Nearby Homeschoolers. Families should compare the planning and community offerings with the features they need before choosing a tier.
The most useful distinction is between core school organization and added recordkeeping or financial tools. Essentials covers planning, reports, and portals, while Pro adds transcript reporting, marketplace access, budgeting, and unlimited storage. Community groups and messaging may appeal to families looking for peer connection alongside planning. Families who need attendance, progress tracking, records, and mobile access have a broad set of tools here; those seeking only a simple calendar may find the lesson, reporting, book-tracking, and portal features more than they need. Support is offered by email and chat, with 24/7 support indicated.
