Our verdict on Hive eCDN

Hive eCDN is a software-based enterprise content delivery network for organizations streaming live and on-demand video across corporate networks. Its peer-to-peer approach lets viewers share video segments locally instead of having every device request them from the source. Deployment is available through the Hive VX Web Client or Hive VX Agent, with executive performance dashboards for operational visibility. The product is aimed at enterprise video and webcast teams that need to manage delivery across internal networks rather than produce events from end to end.

The published plans show several purchasing routes. Single Event costs $985 per event and includes installation-free browser-only technology, deployment and activation support, and a follow-up call to review event analytics. Standard starts at $0.50 per user per month when billed annually, adding optimized eCDN distribution, a choice of browser or installable Agent, and deployment support. Standard+ starts at $0.75 per user per month with Standard functionality, advanced analytics, per-event viewer engagement summaries and Success Services. Premium adds advanced network capabilities, real-time infrastructure monitoring, network and video services readiness testing, and unlimited employee viewers.

Hive eCDN fits organizations already using a webcast or video platform: the integration list includes Kaltura, Microsoft 365, Brandlive, Vimeo, ON24, Panopto, MediaPlatform and many others. Security and access features include end-to-end encryption, VPN compatibility, zero-trust support and SSO/SAML, with SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR listed among its compliance capabilities. Network analytics and real-time monitoring become more substantial on higher tiers. Choose Hive eCDN when delivery efficiency, observability and enterprise network control are priorities; choose another product if you need a complete event-production suite or a simpler tool for a small operation.
