Hindsight review
A flexible memory layer for agents that need temporal, reflective and graph-aware recall.

Hindsight is an agent-memory system from Vectorize, Inc. It stores, consolidates and retrieves persistent memories for AI agents, with semantic similarity, BM25 keyword search, graph traversal and temporal reasoning. Its world, experience and observation memory types support developers building agents that need contextual recall over time, reflective responses and relationships between entities. The system also preserves conflicting historical states instead of flattening them into a single record.
Deployment and pricing span three models. The MIT-licensed Self-hosted edition deploys with a single Docker command and includes all four memory networks, Retain, Recall and Reflect APIs, and a built-in MCP server; support is provided through the GitHub community. Hindsight Cloud uses pay-as-you-go billing based on tokens and calls, with managed infrastructure, automatic scaling, daily backups, usage analytics and team collaboration. The Enterprise option adds custom deployment, bring-your-own-cloud or on-premises hosting, dedicated infrastructure, a custom SLA, SSO, RBAC and dedicated support. Cloud access includes free credits to start rather than a fixed paid tier.
The standout capability is its combination of retrieval methods and temporal reasoning, controlled by token-budgeted context sizing. REST and MCP APIs, Python and TypeScript SDKs, and integrations with agent frameworks and AI tools make it adaptable across application stacks. A SOC 2 posture and cloud or self-hosted deployment broaden its fit for teams with different operating requirements. Choose Hindsight when an agent must retain changing facts, experiences and observations while balancing context size. Teams seeking only simple vector search, or those that require predictable subscription pricing without usage-based billing, may prefer a narrower alternative.
