Hina review
A free beta companion with persistent memory, proactive messages, and customizable personas.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Hina is a beta AI companion for adults seeking a personalized conversational partner, tutor, friend, or another defined role. It is designed for long-term conversations, combining short-, mid-, and long-term memory with editable living notes about the user and relationship. Customizable personas can vary by role, gender, language, and personality, while comfort and personality settings provide additional control over the interaction style.
The product’s main strength is the depth of its memory and personalization focus. Hina can retain information across conversations, maintain editable relationship notes, and send proactive check-ins and follow-up messages rather than waiting for every interaction to begin with a new prompt. Weather and timezone context can inform its messages, giving the companion a more situational approach. These features make Hina a fit for users who value continuity and an evolving relationship model more than a broad productivity platform.
Hina is free during beta, with full access and no credit card required. Its current format is a web experience, and its scope is centered on text-based companionship rather than a wider device or app ecosystem. Voice, image and video capabilities, and integrations are not verified features of the product. Users looking for a focused memory companion can choose Hina for its free access, proactive communication, and extensive persona controls. Those who need a mobile-native experience, multimodal interaction, connected services, or a defined paid-plan structure should consider an alternative built around those requirements.
