Herd Manager review
A mobile-friendly record system with broad dairy modules and a stated annual per-animal price.

Herd Manager brings dairy herd records and farm accounts into one system for farms that need to track milk production, animal health, breeding, inventory and finances. Farmers can record daily yields and review lactation curves and production reports, while health and breeding records cover events such as vaccinations, treatments, insemination, pregnancy and calving. The product is aimed at Pakistani dairy farms and US operations, with the positioning spanning smallholdings to commercial dairies. Its stated starting price and mobile recording make it worth considering for smaller farms that want broad recordkeeping without a per-seat charge.
Pricing needs a closer look: the published package is called Custom package and is custom quoted, but the listed rate is $5 USD per animal per year, billed annually. That package includes all modules unlocked, unlimited staff, cloud sync and on-site or virtual consultation. A 14-day trial is offered, and there is no free plan. The package groups routine herd records with feed, medicine and semen inventory, farm income and expenses, and a customer milk ledger. This breadth is useful for farms wanting connected operational records; farms seeking only milk tracking may find the scope more than they need.
The platform is available on the web and mobile, with cloud-synced recording of milk, health and breeding events. However, the vendor's mobile-app page says the native iOS and Android apps are in final testing and advises using the mobile browser for now. Excel import and export and PDF report export support data movement, while AI feed formulation and an AI farm assistant add functions beyond recordkeeping. Farms comfortable with browser-based mobile access and a consolidated record system are the clearest fit; those requiring native apps now should consider another option.

- The package is custom quoted despite a stated $5 per animal yearly price
- The vendor advises using a mobile browser while native apps are in final testing
- AI feed formulation and an AI farm assistant may not suit farms seeking only recordkeeping
