Helpable is knowledge base software for founders, SaaS teams, agencies, and small businesses. It combines a searchable public knowledge base with Calli, an AI chatbot that answers from published articles. Teams can also embed a help and chat widget, manage live chat and a contact inbox, publish on a custom domain, and create internal documentation behind login. Its web and API availability, multilingual publishing, SEO structured data, sitemap, and hreflang features make it suited to teams building a customer-facing help center rather than a private document repository alone.

Pricing is structured as a permanent free plan plus monthly paid tiers. Free includes an AI knowledge base and Calli chatbot, an embeddable widget, live chat and contact inbox, 50+ languages, and structured data for SEO and AI search. Solo costs $25 per month and adds a custom domain with free SSL and AI Writer. Starter costs $49 per month and adds URL import, bulk translation, Zapier, webhooks, REST API access, surveys, full analytics, and no Helpable branding. Pro is $149 per month, adding knowledge-gap reports, answer analysis, smart handoff routing, a custom Calli system prompt, and priority support. Scale costs $299 per month and adds full white-labeling, custom Context/RAG with PDF upload, private sections behind login, SSO/SAML, and dedicated support.

The strongest fit is a small software team that wants public documentation, AI-assisted answers, live support, and multilingual publishing in one service. Scheduled publishing, article version history with restore, content analytics, and knowledge-gap reporting support an ongoing documentation workflow. Slack, Zapier, Make, webhooks, and the REST API extend its ecosystem fit, although several of the broader integration and analytics features begin at Starter or Pro. Teams with a 15-article free-plan limit, or those needing private sections and SSO/SAML, should plan around the paid tiers; Scale is the relevant option for those requirements.
