Grindr is a social networking and dating app for gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer adults. Its nearby grid supports profile discovery, while chats can include photos, video messages, and member-to-member video calls. Profiles can describe gender identity, pronouns, interests, health information, and whether someone seeks dates, friends, relationships, chat, or hookups. The app is available on iOS and Android, with Grindr Web for eligible paid subscribers.
The freemium structure starts with Free access to core app features and a daily video-call allowance. XTRA removes third-party ads, expands the grid to up to 500 nearest profiles, allows exploration of up to five global users per day, and adds saved chat phrases, read receipts, and Grindr Web access. Unlimited removes third-party ads, provides an unlimited grid, adds incognito browsing and chat translations, and includes Grindr Web access. Subscription prices depend on region and duration and are presented in-app. Video chatting remains app-only, so web access does not provide the full communication feature set.
