Gopher review
A route-focused Windows system for small landscaping teams with desktop workflows.

Gopher is desktop software for lawn-care and landscaping companies using Windows, with web deployment also available. It brings route-based scheduling, recurring contracts, one-time jobs, crew assignments, customer and property records, estimates, invoices, payments, inventory, and reporting into one system. Small and mid-market teams that still organize work around Windows computers are the clearest fit, particularly businesses managing regular maintenance routes alongside one-time jobs.
The product is sold as a perpetual license for the current major version rather than a recurring subscription. Gopher 4 Basic covers billing and scheduling on Windows. Gopher 4 Plus adds emailed invoices, credit-card processing through Stripe, advanced scheduling tools, and a QuickBooks Pro link. Gopher 4 Pro adds chemical-application tracking, equipment tracking, employee scheduling, and timesheets. The pricing page lists a starting price of 149, while its listed prices are dated July 1, 2016 and subject to change, so buyers should treat the displayed pricing as historical guidance rather than a current subscription comparison.
Route management is the product’s defining strength. Recurring contracts and multi-step job series support ongoing maintenance, while crew and route assignment connects scheduling with field operations. Estimates can be converted into invoices, and the system also handles accounts receivable, payments, sales-tax reporting, material-usage history, and inventory tracking. QuickBooks and Stripe cover accounting and card processing connections, but the ecosystem remains focused. Teams wanting dedicated mobile platforms or broader client communication capabilities should consider another product; teams seeking Windows-centered scheduling and back-office administration may find Gopher a closer fit.
