GoodByEmail is a desktop application for analyzing exported email inboxes and identifying senders that consume significant storage. It accepts mbox and Outlook PST files, processes mailbox data locally, highlights top senders and mailing-list subscriptions, and supports one-click unsubscribe workflows. The product is aimed at individuals, teams, and organizations that want local or self-hosted email cleanup across Windows and macOS, without granting the application mailbox credentials or OAuth access.

The published plans show a free plan alongside monthly options. Lite costs $9.99 per user per month and includes inbox analytics, Top Offenders analysis, unlimited unsubscribes, unlimited email inboxes, entire email history analysis, and one device installation. Plus costs $14.99 per user per month and adds sender-list export as PDF and CSV, with two device installations. Pro costs $19.99 per user per month and adds sender-list export with unsubscribe links, with three device installations. Perpetual costs $199 one time and includes everything in Lite, no recurring charges, use forever, and three years of free app updates. White-Label offers a rebrandable OEM platform through bespoke agreements, while Enterprise offers on-premises or self-hosted deployment, unlimited installations, app virtualization support, custom contracts, and invoice or purchase-order payment.

GoodByEmail’s strongest fit is privacy-conscious cleanup based on mailbox exports. Users can filter and sort senders by storage, email count, and last received date, then use bulk deletion through their own email client. It supports providers including Google, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Fastmail, Yahoo Mail, iCloud, Outlook, Zoho, Proton Mail, and others. The workflow remains guided rather than automatic: GoodByEmail does not automatically scan or delete mail, and deletion is performed in the user’s email client. Choose it when local processing and export analysis matter; choose another option when automatic cleanup rules or direct, continuously connected mailbox management are priorities.

GoodByEmail pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Analyzes mbox and Outlook PST exports locally, including offline workflows
    • Finds storage-heavy senders, mailing lists, and message-count patterns
    • Supports one-click unsubscribes without mailbox credentials or OAuth access
  • Where it doesn't
    • Requires exported mailbox files rather than direct mailbox scanning
    • Deletion happens in the user's email client, not automatically in GoodByEmail
    • Desktop coverage is limited to Windows and macOS
