Our verdict on Gentreo

Gentreo is an online estate planning platform for individuals, families, and organizations. It guides users through the creation of state-specific wills, pour-over wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare proxies, pet trusts, and pet powers of attorney. The platform also includes a Digital Family Vault for storing documents, controlled sharing with family members and professional contacts, PDF generation and download, document updates, and annual reviews. Its free entry option covers document creation before finalization, while finalized documents are part of the paid offering.

The main strength is breadth within estate planning. Gentreo brings core personal documents and pet-planning documents into one workflow, rather than focusing only on wills or trusts. The first-year all-inclusive plan includes a will or pour-over will, revocable living trust, power of attorney, healthcare proxy, pet documents, and the Digital Family Vault. The renewal plan focuses on keeping documents current and includes the vault and unlimited updates. That structure suits households that want to organize several related documents together and revisit them over time.

Gentreo is also designed for shared administration. Users can store documents in the Digital Family Vault and control sharing with family, advisors, and agents. The web-based service supports document review, customization, signing, storage, and sharing as part of the broader process. It may be a strong fit for families coordinating estate materials, especially when pet arrangements and ongoing updates matter. Organizations can also access employer, financial-services, nonprofit, and membership-organization programs. Choose an alternative if you need a broader legal-forms library, a non-web platform, or a service centered on legal matters outside estate planning.
