Garmin Pay review
A free device wallet for Garmin wearers who want contactless card payments.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Garmin Pay is a wallet feature for compatible Garmin watches and some cycling computers. It is aimed at Garmin wearers who want to pay at participating merchant terminals or selected transit systems without carrying a phone or physical card. The wallet is managed through Garmin Connect on Android and iOS, but it is not a standalone payment app: users need a compatible Garmin device, and their credit or debit card must be supported by a participating financial institution.
The feature set centers on storing and using cards from the device. A wallet can hold up to ten cards, and a passcode authenticates wallet payments. Users can suspend or remove payment cards, while Garmin Connect provides the setup and management path. Garmin Pay also supports purchases in the Connect IQ Store. These links make it most relevant to people already using Garmin devices and services; shoppers looking for a wallet independent of that ecosystem may prefer another option.
Garmin Pay is free, so there are no paid tiers to compare. Its narrow focus is both its main appeal and its boundary: it covers contactless in-store purchases, selected transit use and Connect IQ Store e-commerce, rather than broader money-management tasks. The published feature set does not include peer-to-peer transfers, bill payment or QR payments. Choose it if your Garmin device and card issuer are supported and those payment types meet your needs; look elsewhere if you need transfers, bills or QR-based checkout in the same app.
