Our verdict on Fretuno
Fretuno is an Android music-learning app for guitar, ukulele and bass players. It brings together structured lessons, ear training, fretboard exploration, adaptive practice, progress tracking and tuning tools. The curriculum covers notation, rhythm, intervals, scales, chords, harmony and improvisation, giving learners a way to connect music theory with instrument-specific practice. It is suited to players who want guided study and repeatable exercises, particularly when offline access matters.
Its strongest fit is structured, focused practice. Sessions can adapt to goals, previous answers, accuracy and review timing, while progress tracking records accuracy, practice history, streaks and skill development. The interactive fretboard supports notes, scales, intervals, chords and voicings, and ear-training exercises address note and interval recognition. The tuner includes automatic and manual modes with 18 tuning presets. Selected play-the-note exercises also offer local microphone pitch feedback, adding an immediate check to parts of the practice routine.
The free plan provides unlimited five-question sessions, a core interval set, the first five frets, Foundations lessons and the full tuner. Pro adds all intervals, the complete 24-fret range, longer custom sessions, microphone practice and the complete curriculum. Pro pricing is shown in the app in local currency. Offline support covers core lessons, exercises, progress tracking and generated instrument sounds, which suits practice away from a connection. The main trade-off is platform reach: Fretuno is Android-only. Choose it for offline fretboard and theory work on Android; choose an alternative if iOS access or broader platform coverage is essential.
