Float is cloud-based cash-flow forecasting software for finance teams at growing businesses. It connects with Xero and QuickBooks Online and builds rolling forecasts from bank balances, invoices, bills, transactions, and budgets. Finance teams can view cash daily, weekly, or monthly; compare budgets with actuals; review expected payment dates; and collaborate through comments, mentions, and role-based permissions. It is aimed at companies moving beyond spreadsheet forecasting without needing a full FP&A platform.
Pricing is split across three tiers and monthly or annual billing. Essentials costs $130 per month monthly or $105 per month annually, with unlimited users, eight scenarios, 13-week cash flow, 12-month forecasts, and email and live-chat support. Growth costs $265 monthly or $215 annually and extends forecasts to 36 months while adding an onboarding service. Scale costs $389 monthly or $315 annually and adds multi-entity consolidation for up to five entities, onboarding, priority support, and a named contact. The published plans also show a 14-day free trial and no free plan.
Its strongest fit is focused cash visibility: scenario planning, accounts-receivable and accounts-payable views, budget-versus-actuals tracking, reporting exports, and smart expected payment dates are combined in one web product. Scale adds consolidation for businesses managing multiple entities, while collaboration permissions support finance-team workflows. The trade-off is a narrow platform footprint, with Xero and QuickBooks Online listed as integrations and no direct bank feeds or ERP integrations. Choose Float for straightforward rolling forecasts and practical cash planning; consider an alternative if broad accounting connectivity or a wider FP&A platform is the priority.
