Our verdict on FlixHouse
FlixHouse is a free, ad-supported streaming service for viewers looking for independent movies, documentaries, TV shows, and live television. Its on-demand selection centers on indie films and documentaries, while more than 150 live channels span genres such as news, lifestyle, music, sports, horror, and action. It is aimed at viewers who want a mix of films and live programming without a subscription or credit card, rather than a download library for watching offline.
Access is spread across web browsers, mobile apps, and connected TV devices. The vendor lists apps for iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and Android TV, alongside browser streaming on desktop and mobile. That range gives viewers several ways to watch, including through a television app, without tying the service to a single device family. The main trade-off is that the service streams online only: it does not offer offline downloads. Viewers who need to save films for travel or unreliable internet access should look elsewhere.
The cost model is straightforward: FlixHouse is free, and the vendor says no subscription or credit card is required. In return, viewing is ad-supported, and licensing limits apply to some titles and channels. The help center specifies restrictions outside the United States and its territories, while the service notes some content is unavailable outside North America. Those limits make it a better fit for viewers in supported regions who are comfortable with ads and want indie films alongside live TV. It is less suitable for anyone seeking an ad-free paid tier, offline viewing, or consistent access to every title across regions.
