Our verdict on Flint

Flint is a web-based tool for teachers who want to turn a topic and grade into a classroom escape room. Its AI feature, Sparky, creates a playable sequence of puzzle locks; teachers can also provide their own questions and answers. Students solve puzzles to open doors, while teachers can share the activity with a class or project it in class. The product also offers printable clue cards and an answer sheet, making it relevant to classroom review that can move between digital play and paper materials.

The escape-room mechanics are the main draw. Locks can use numbers or fractions, words, directions, multiple-choice answers, or a final code that combines digits from rooms. Teachers can add hints for students who get stuck and optionally set a countdown timer. Flint supports team play, but the room itself is built and played within Flint rather than exported to Google Forms or Slides. Choose it if those built-in locks and printable materials suit your classroom workflow; look elsewhere if exporting activities to those tools is essential.

According to the vendor’s pricing page, product-specific escape room features are free for teachers, and the Free plan covers up to 80 users. Paid annual plans are $3,000 for up to 150 users, $4,000 for up to 250, and $6,500 for up to 500. Those tiers add SIS/LMS integration, school-wide data analytics, and a dedicated customer success manager; plans for over 500 users have custom pricing and lower per-seat prices. This structure may fit schools seeking institution-wide integration and analytics, but the $3,000 annual entry point is a substantial step up from the free option. The product runs in the cloud, and listed support channels are chat and docs.
